Capelin found close to shore in significant volume

The fishing vessel Polar Amaroq has been finding capelin in a 180 nautical-mile belt at the shore of Iceland‘s north coast. „The fish is big and mature and the findings are in line with the autumn survey of 2019. I have been optimistic about the capelin season this winter and now I have good reasons for my optimism. It just looks awfully good, “says the capitain Geir Zoëga.  The Icelandic Marine Research Institute is monetoring these catches closely.
