The 4 vessels which have been out for the past few days, on behalf of MFRI (Marine and Freshwater Research Institute) searching for capelin are returning to harbour.
The final report is not out but prelminiary findings state that pack-ice hindered the search on the north-eastern part of the search area and surprisingly no capelin seemed to have reached the eastern parts of the fishing grounds.
The next few days will be used to evaluate the findings and issue a report.
It has not been decided if another excursion will be organized later.
