The Icelandic Marine Research Institute concluded its research for capelin and it was decided not to issue any starting quota for the coming season.
Despite a very thorough search only about 307.000 MT of mature stock was found. After correcting for estimated predation of about 193.000 until spawning next spring, the left over spawning stock would not exceed the minimum of 114.000 mt which is needed to allow any quota.
So for now the catch advice is zero.
