The Joint Russian-Norwegian Working Group on Arctic Fisheries (JRN-AFWG) advises a zero quota for the upcoming 2026 capelin season in the Barents Sea according to the latest report from the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research.
The data further shows the recruitment stock to be very low which would suggest a very poor outlook for the 2027 capelin quota as well.
